I have been with several affiliate marketing websites with the shortest being about a week the longest over a year. I am still chasing after my very elusive first sale between three major affiliate networks.

I have created a few content websites now around certain topics and plastered ads on them in an effort to make some money online. I can only seem to make money with adcents on them with one getting a couple of dollars per click that has next to no traffic.

I have always been very hesitant about making “spammy” type websites in an effort to make money online while keeping my morales about me. What I am starting to learn, is that I need to be a bit pushier and understand that there actually are people on the web who do make purchases after clicking on ads.

Let it be known, that I will never give out the the websites I am working on due to the amount of content theft and blatant site ripoffs that happen in this cutthroat industry which I have been warned about through various blogs I read on this topic. I will talk about how to make money online but not specifically the niches I am using which is pretty standard for those making a living this way.

The new strategy I am using was suggested by one of my Affiliate Managers which was to find an ad to promote and build a website around that. I have up until now, built websites and then plastered either adcents or affiliate ads that I felt may be of benefit to my users.

Fingers crossed that this approach will help me acquire that elusive first sale!
