Setting up a MySQL database from CPanel
Setting up a MySQL database from CPanel is a fairly easy and straightforward task. Of course, everything is easy once you know how to do it and that’s what I plan on showing you today!
I have created a screencast tutorial on how to setup a MySQL database from CPanel for your viewing pleasure. I may be a bit fast in the tutorial but I wanted to keep the screen cast as short as possible knowing you can watch it more then once and ask questions if you have them.
In an upcoming post, I will show you how to use WordPress.org for a self-hosted blog. In order to install a hosted installation of WordPress, you need to setup a MySQL database to house the data:

Quick notes for Setting up a MySQL Database from CPanel Video Tutorial:
- Login to CPanel account
- Click on the MySQL Databases icon
- Enter database name, Create Database, and then “Go Back”
- Enter user name and password, Create User, and then “Go Back”
- Select the User, Database, and Permissions, and click Add User to Database
You can use whatever username, database, and password you want. For security reasons, it is a good idea to ensure the username, database and password are not the same and the password is hard to guess.
