Let the games begin!

Got a lot of work done this weekend!

First thing I did was download, install, and slightly configure vBulletin onto sports-cards.ca. That lead me into registering on eBay and getting a PayPal account - two things I have been procrastinating doing for sometime now for whatever reason. I even bid on two auctions and won one!

Bought, Downloaded, Configured, and Installed vBulletin on sports-cards.ca

Finally broke down and bought a vBulletin license for sports-cards.ca, downloaded and installed it today. I want to install and configure the iTrader 2.x add-on as well. I have decided that I will put the shopping cart up at offthemask.com and forums on the other.

I will have to find someone who is a vbskinner to make it look prettier but at least for now I have got it installed and can hopefully find some time to put into growing a community. it sounds pretty hard to get a community going but most do not do it because they feel most markets are so saturated that it is not worth the effort but as others say, it takes a few years and all you have to do is get started and before you know it, your efforts pay off.

Practice What Was Preached!

Well, I did it. I finally wrote a class in PHP and instantiated it! Been a long time in the running, that is me actually using OOP outside of school or training. It is officially now the year of 2006 and I was first introduced to OOP (via Java) in about 1998. Seems odd for me to say “8 years later…” but it feels good.
